Comcast Pacific Northwest Challenge Coin

Comcast Pacific Northwest is local and part of the community fabric in the state of Washington. It is the third-largest pay-TV company, the second-largest cable TV company by subscribers, and the largest home Internet service provider in the United States. As the world becomes more digital, Comcast aspires to ensure that everyone can participate and excel in today’s society. They have been committed to creating and supporting digital equity within the communities we serve for more than a decade.

They invests directly in community-based initiatives and programs to support Digital Navigators and broadband adoption efforts in the Pacific Northwest as part of Project UP, the company’s comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity. Their Digital Equity Network with these partners helps launch and boost their efforts to help expand access to digital skills programs and get people in the Pacific Northwest connected to the internet.

To commemorate the program, we were given the order to construct a challenge coin that represents the spirit of the company. They wanted the coin to be modern, up-to-date, and contemporary in design and in its form. So, we decided to have the coin also constructed from acrylic material, which is sometimes used in challenge coins as a protective or decorative layer, rather than the core material of the coin itself.

The combination of the base material of the coin, which is metal, and the transparent nature of acrylic gives the coin a fashionable look. The Pacific Northwest logo on the back of the coin and the logos of Comcast’s core values are still pleasingly visible due to the transparency of the acrylic.
