The Smyrna Police Department (SPD) is the primary law enforcement agency serving the town of Smyrna, Delaware. It is a full-service department with a strong emphasis on community-oriented policing. Their mission centers on maintaining public safety, enforcing the law with integrity, and building positive relationships with the community.

SPD is active in community outreach, including events like Coffee with a Cop and National Night Out. The department supports modern policing tools like crime mapping, anonymous tip reporting, and body-worn cameras. SPD has also demonstrated a commitment to transparency and professionalism, often publishing crime stats and community reports online.

We were given the task to produce a challenge coin for them, which would be awarded to their Chief. They requested a classical design with a special touch: A circular opening on the faces of the coin. Other design elements were pretty conventional, such as: The Police Department logo on one side, the FBI logo on the other, and some lettering on the rims of the coin.

Our graphic design team will prepare the final design before it is read by our sophisticated production machinery. The equipment that we use for our challenge coin can execute even the smallest engravings that would be hard to achieve with manual labor. You can see from the photos how flawlessly the cut of the openings on the coin was done, and how accurately the letters and images were carved into the base material.

If you have an idea or a design that would look awesome in real life, just bring it to us at Embleholics to turn it into reality.
