There have been many collaborations between Madigan Army Medical Center and The Delta Detachment, more formally known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), a top-tier, highly classified U.S. Army special operations unit. These collaborations highlight the ongoing partnership between Madigan Army Medical Center and Special Forces medical personnel, enhancing the readiness and effectiveness of military medical services.
Some examples of these collaborations are: During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Special Forces Medical Sergeants (18D) from the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) volunteered at Madigan Army Medical Center. Madigan Army Medical Center hosted a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Capstone Exercise at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in 2024.
The challenge coin we made for them is one-of-a-kind and very well executed. They wanted the coin to have the shape of a shield with a ribbon on the bottom. They also requested that we put the Delta Detachment mascot, the Dino, on one side, and the image of the Madigan Army Medical Center scenery on the other. We had our team of designers make sure that everything was laid out perfectly so that our computerized machinery could carve each detail.
You can see in the photos how detailed the textures of the dinosaur skeleton are, with small holes and the organic shapes, which were engraved nicely on the surface of the coin. The scenery image on the other side was also carved and colored beautifully.
Don’t hesitate to reach us at Embleholics if you want to consult your design or idea, we’ll do our best to turn it into reality.
